I wasn't to excited about going home but I suppose it wasn't so bad. I really haven't done much, I've slept in till noon pretty much every day, played video games, and watched movies. It sounds pretty lame, I know, but I guess it was nice to take a break from school (or at least all that learning stuff ha). I will say I did have some fun yesterday when I played Ultimate Frisbee in the rain (which soon turned into sliding around in the mud with nothing to do with a frisbee) and went over to an old friends house for a fun night of Apples to Apples and Catchphrase with other alumni of Ridgeland High School. Then today I had a little mix of fun and saw Role Models with some MC people. Role Models was hilarious, but I feel like I need to go to church after laughing at some of that stuff.
Anyways, this blog was pretty lame, sorry, maybe I'll think of something cool next time.

Yeah..

So I finally remembered about this thing. Its been a crazy, yet fun, week for me. First off, I'll start by talking about ST Mystery Date on Monday. My date and I had figured out that we were going with each other so there wasn't any mystery involved but it was still a fun night. My journey started out in New Men's Rotunda where I recived a 7 of Hearts which stated on the back that I was to go to the front of Nelson to meet my date. I wandered on up there where I found my date. Eventually we headed out to the Sport's Hall of Fame out on Lakeland. The actual shin-dig was pretty cool. We played poker (using balloons as chips) and pretty much went crazy on the dance floor for the rest of the time!
On to the next social event of the week. On Wednesday we had a Shawreth/KT 80's rollerskating Swap which was completly and utterly awesome. The only things that wasn't super fun and cool were the blisters I got afterwards.
Then last night (Friday night) was Shawreth Informal. It was a very exciting night. I found out who my Big Brother is, got pinned, and got my certificate! There also was plenty of crazy dancing going on and Little Tokyo catered.
As for today, I'm going geosomethingorother with Lukas and Tony which should be tons of fun and then seeing the new Bond movie with my big brother.
Later

Its been awhile.

Well I've finally remembered to get back to my blog...
My past few weeks have been pretty rough. I've been constantly going through the cycle of school, rush, and work. School hasn't been to terrible, there are a few things I wish I had put more effort into but whats done is done. I don't even know where to start with Rush, I can't really say anything so I'll just say that I've been pushed to grow and I feel I'll be growing alot more in the next few weeks. And finally work, I hate my job and have turned in my two weeks notice. My last day there will be Thursday and I will welcome all the extra time and sleep with open arms.
I know this hasn't been a very good blog but I'll be sure to write a better one next time. Comment if you have anything you'd like me to talk about.

2

It's time for another hit of blogging. This last week hasn't been particularly eventful but I suppose at the same time it wasn't dull. The earlier half of my week was filled all kinds of treats like assignments and quizzes, but as the week went on that stopped. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy going to class, not so much when it comes to quizzes, but I find my classes to be very interesting and rarely find a time when I'm dozing off. Anyways, I also had to work a fair bit this week, at times I think maybe having a job now isn't a good idea but at the same time it doesn't get in the way thaaaat much and I like the money.

On Saturday I went to the football game to play in the band. That game was much more fun to watch than the Millsaps game. Also, I was told that hardly anyone goes to the games, but I felt like there were tons of people there. For our "halftime show" (if that's what you want to call it) we just walked around on the track and made shapes and at the end I was part of the "tuba run" which apparently a tradition of sorts. Afterwards I went to the dance thing at the piazza; I've never really been one for dancing but I still tried to give it some effort (therefore looked dumb). After all that fun I went with some people to Taco Bell (don't worry, I suffered later) and eventually sitting in my room on facebook and itunes. Oh and most of the gaps between class, work, and other stuff was filled with frisbee, whether it was ultimate or just throwing it around. I guess looking back this week wasn't that significant but it wasn't bad. So for all you readers, just stick around and maybe I'll have something juicy to talk about next week.

-Oliver

Well I guess it's time to give this blog thing a whirl. I suppose I'll start out by introducing myself to an audience that isn't present. I'll start with the basics; my name is Oliver Avni, I'm eighteen, and I came to MC from Ridgeland, MS. I recently transferred to the Clinton Starbucks for the one in Madison. When I'm not working at Starbucks or working equally hard on school work I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, playing computer games, going to movies, and just hanging out with friends.
Well now that, that is over I think I'll talk about my experience at MC so far. I'm not sure if its just me but it seems that college days feel at least three times as long as regular days. It must be something to do with all the classes and knowledge floating around in the air but it may just be the wonderful food in the Entree line in the Caf. Anyways, so far at my time at MC I've done all kinds of fun, wonderful things, such as: class, band, welcome week, work, study, dodging tornadoes, more class, play frisbee, meet some cool people, even more class, work through a break-up, make late night Walmart and/or Dairy Queen runs, and go to the Backyard Brawl. It's all been fairly fun but I can only hope that it gets to be even more fun.
My classes seem to all be pretty good so far. On MW I have accounting, U.S. History, Old Testament, Art Appreciation, and Band. Accounting is an interesting class, but I think the teacher has a funky pupil in her eye so sometimes if I catch a glimpse of it my focus is shot for the rest of the class. I like my U.S. History class with Dr. Logue all we do is take notes, but Dr. Logue is a pretty cool guy so I can live with the note taking. For Old Testament I have Dr. Vanhorn; I've never read through the Bible but Dr. Vanhorn makes it sound very tempting (haha, Bible=tempting?). I don't really have much to say about Art Appreciation except for there is a great group of people in that class.
For Tuesday and Thursday I only have two classes, (if you want to call chapel a class) Chapel followed by English Comp. I have a very strong distaste for Mr. Prat, I cannot stand listening to anything he says so Thursday Chapel has coincidentally become an extension of sleep time. As for Tuesday Chapel, so far my group leaders have been great but I haven't gotten to actually meet many of the people in there (other then hear scar stories). Then finally we have Dr. Randle's class, this class is pretty crazy, yet insightful and intelligent. I guess one could describe Dr. Randle's class as some sort of controlled (at times) hurricane of knowledge and enlightenment.
On Friday I only have half of my MW classes. So anyways, I like MC so far and in later posts I plan to talk about why I'm here and what I plan on leaving with (in relation to the mission statement).

Later!
Oliver
